Game Session 5

We had stayed in Lake Town for about 3 days, to ensure the Ukt didn’t return. Ryan still had not recovered from his mushroom poisoning.

We drained the tail of blood recovering about 1 pint of blood for trade, We also skinned the tail getting about 3sq yds of “skin”

Before we left Ted asked Iron Hound to Rescan the Rift, he detected radio waves coming from the rift, we listened to them and heard WGFE Rock 105/95.5 Glen Arbor, MI broadcast. After a short discussion, Ted  said he’d go through the Rift. We asked some of the Lake Town folk for some rope, when asked why? And being told Ted was going to go through the Rift, we got the rope and an “OH we gotta see this audience”.

Ted “Thinged” up, Tied the rope around himself and with Iron Hound holding on jumped into the Rift.  After a few minutes Iron Hound pulled the rope back, and Ted was not there.  The townies dispersed with the attitude of “Yep these folks are crazy, and the Dumb one just killed himself” and dispersed.  Tim and I discussed options, and the fact that we didn’t have to tell his parents that he “Dumb Assed” himself by jumping into a Rift.  After a while Ted came back through the rift on a small aluminum boat with an outboard, and a small generator.

Ted told us it was Traverse City, and His receipt for the stuff said it was Dated June 8 2024.  Another short discussion about the Rifts possible singular end stability, and alternate time lines, Tim had another Mental breakdown about the potential status of his family, and went through the rift.  Ted and I discussed for a couple minutes on how to best figure out how to determine if the past was our reality or an alternate.

During our discussion Tim had discovered the Rift on the other end was not over land but over water, and after swimming to shore, not far from Mission Point. He was attacked by the Mate of the Ukt we fought in Lake Town. First with Psionic attack while hidden, then moving in to kill Tim by hand, errr claws, while stating she would kill us for killing her mate whom died of his wounds.  Tim fought back with his ION pistol.

Ted and I exited the Rift to the sounds of ION blasts. Coming ashore as Tim fought the She-ukt, I jumped out of the boat and ran into combat, By getting stabby and slashy.  Ted “Thinged” up and followed behind, My repeated stabs and slashes, Brought the Ukt’s attention to me where she used her prehensile tail to grab and crush me. Ted tried to free me but go no leverage. Tim continued shooting as I went extra stabby, while Ted managed to get leverage and prevent the Ukt from constricting me to death.  Between the amount of blood loss from the sheer volume of holes, and Tim frying her with ION blasts, we killed the Ukt.

While we were fighting the Ukt Iron Hound decided to join us, falling to the bottom of the lake and having to walk out, joining us after the Ukt was Sashimi’d.  It was at this time we notice a kid had been watching the battle.  He had Iron Hound transform into vehicle mode.

Tim was ready to run to Lansing to check on his family. I convinced him to make a phone call instead of trying to barge into a home that might not actually be his.  We found someone to lend us their phone, He made a call, to his Wife.  Only the person on the other end while being the person whom he married in our reality, in this one didn’t know who he was and was still using a maiden name.

After another short melt down, Tim agreed that this place wasn’t part our past but someone else.  And we proceeded to go on a supply run and shopping spree gathering supplies to take back to our world and new time period.  We left Iron Hound in a public lot, telling people that we were working on a move and we in costume, and Iron Hound was a prop piece.  While we were shopping we left Iron Hound to scan all the vehicles he could for alternate transformation forms, and to download the internet. (specifically the library of congress, and equivalent from all countries, plus all media. along with all current mapping information, noting locations of notable resource and assets, for future use)

After committing Identity theft and massive retail fraud, hitting up PX, Hardware, Farm supply, and pharmacies, and maxing out someone else’s credit card with our names. We Tetris’d the supplies into Iron Hound rented a barge and returned to the rift.  Tim was able to see the Rift and Lay Line in the past while Ted and I could not.

Passing back through the Rift, We told the folks of Lake Town to never go through the Rift as it was dangerous, and there were possibly other Creatures, and they should place a watch on the Rift in case something came through they could be alerted and potentially prepared to defend themselves.  We then headed back to Clare; too unload giving some stuff to the tribe and keeping some for trade.  We showed the tribe how to use the unfamiliar camping gear we brought back.

After unloading, the Elders asked us to scout straight north as we now had a good map of the North West and West after combining the cartographic information from Lake Town with what we already had.

Traveling North, While Using a drone controlled by Iron hound  to increase mapping range, we came across a small unwalled settlement at Grayling, Which kept the Grayling name after someone found the Camp Grayling sign, for the nearby ruined military base.  We did a little trade with the town of a few steel hand axes, and some seeds, for mostly food stuffs, and information.   The Leader (Sachia Ravenwing) Was more than pleased with the hand axes, And told us that Ishpeming (Manistique) was maintaining the Mackinaw bridge and even had a town on our side, that was open to trade.  Both confirming the Bridge existed and the Existence of Northern Gun and the Manistique Imperium. Sachia also informed us of future trade as Grayling, produced way more food item than needed for trade.

While we were at Grayling, we decided to check out the remains of the Base or few broken down Cement buildings. While the base itself was only good for future metal salvage, the Bunkers had previously been turned into a shelter for some persons; we believed a military fallout shelter. The useful things we found we’re some SDC weapons with 3 cases of ammo for each, and more paper for printer we  brought back from past to Print out some things from Internet download.  We noted it for future salvage of potential computer equipment, to hopefully get a clearer idea of what happened in the past.

We then headed North to the Bridge,  No towns or settlements were along the way,  Iron Hound informed us about 50 miles from the bridge that, two armies were fighting at the bridge.  Going as close as we could get without the possibility of detection, about 30 miles from bridge.  We were able to use Drone optics to see that and Army of Magic users were fighting an army of Skelebots.  Iron Hound could detect A.R.C.H.I.E signals.

We discussed that A.R.C.H.I.E had taken over CS robots to conduct False Flag attacks on places making it look like it was acts of the CS.  We are currently deciding how to approach or deal with this.
